Editorial policy
Grand Screen Journal aims to make screen craft clear without flattening the many ways a work can be understood. We separate what can be observed from what we infer, and we make room for correction when our wording or facts fall short.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual statements against material appropriate to the subject and take care with names, dates and technical terms. Interpretive writing is presented as interpretation, not as the only possible reading. If a claim is uncertain or the available context is limited, we say so plainly.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage. A collaboration or commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and we do not let a partner approve editorial judgement.
Corrections
Readers may use the Contact page to identify a possible error. We review the point, amend material when warranted and clarify substantial corrections so readers can understand what changed.
Partner and commissioned material
Paid placements and material created in collaboration with a partner are labelled clearly where they appear. Labels are intended to let readers distinguish partner material from independent editorial work.
A closer look changes the view
Grand Screen Journal pays attention to the small choices that shape a screen story. You need no specialist vocabulary to notice what a frame, a pause or a change of sound can do.
